We test the booking, not the marketing page
Travelguidess is an independent airline, hotel, and booking-platform review site. Every score here comes from a trip we paid for or a booking we made ourselves.
Why this site exists
Most travel content online is written from a press release or an affiliate feed, not from an actual booking. We started Travelguidess because we wanted a place that answered a narrower question: if you book this flight, this hotel, or this platform today, what actually happens? That means paying full price, sitting in the seat, and writing down what we measured — not what an airline's marketing team sent us.
How we test
Every review on this site follows the same process, regardless of whether it earns us a commission.
- Every hotel stay is booked and paid for at the public rate — never comped in exchange for a review
- Flight testing happens on tickets purchased the same way any reader would buy them
- Scores are dated, and corrections get a new dated entry instead of a silent edit
- We turn down partnership terms that require a minimum score or guaranteed placement
How the site makes money
We're reader-supported through affiliate commissions on some outbound booking links, which never affects a review score. Every relationship we have with an airline, hotel group, or platform is disclosed the same way.
